It bothered Susan when she couldn't find a job. She wondered what she could do for a living. She called up her girl friend, Gloria, who had just finished high school with her.
"How are you gonna make it, honey?" she asked her bluntly.
"Come on over and we'll talk about it," Gloria told her.
Even though Susan didn't like the long drive in the hot summer heat, she thought she ought to go meet her girl friend and see if there was a possibility of obtaining employment.
